Fusobacteria

Description

Fusobacteria is a well-known phylum of human and animal pathogens. In particular, some strains of fusobacteria are popular in periodontics for causing ailments such as gum disease, though they do target many other parts of the body. They are enriched in the saliva of healthy, non-obese folks, and are abundant in the airways of healthy people but not of Cystic Fibrosis sufferers.
